Ivory

Good morning,

Just debating a new L405.

How do people get on with the Ivory interior? I'm thinking water marks, jeans and the dreaded trip to the dealers for service.

Ivory is fantastic. I've had other colours but Ivory, especially with dark paint colours is very classy and wears surprisingly well.

I've just ordered Ivory this time.

I've had the, slightly darker, Almond for years (see photo, below) and a lot of miles (30-40,000 pa), over many cars (since 2001) and never regretted it, despite it being a working car (complete with dog!) and with me wearing jeans for 1/3 of the time. I swear by Simoniz leather cleaner (mostly lanolin) and a bit of mutton cloth every few weeks. Keeps it lovely and supple too.

The light colours make the car so cheerful and bright inside and stop it from getting hot inside when parked up on a summer's day Thumbs Up

I have Ivory and you do get a blue tinge after a while from jeans and it does pick up a little dirt.

Just wipe it down every now and again with a gentle cleaner - I use Gliptone - and it keeps it looking great.

Ivory is the way forward, definitely makes the car look and feel brighter
I use autoglym leather cleaner for mine, although my new one did have a coating put on the seats from new and after 4 months of ownership not had to clean any jean stains from them.

I was anti-ivory - but eventually gave in as my wife loved it.

We've had a few now with Ivory and it has been no more hassle than the darker colours we had before - and does make it feel a bigger and brighter place.

Our new ride has the ivory interior and IMHO looks fantastic.

I'm sure that with regular cleaning it'll keep its colour OK, we have ivory leather chairs at home and a slightly darker than ivory cream leather in the motorhome so I've kind of assumed that the FFRR seats will be able to clean up just as well as and when necessary.

Also, just as a side thought, if you're worried about hurting residuals due to seats being grubby, I'd not worry about that. The dealer would have the car fully valeted anyway, which would easily stretch to a deep clean of seats if it was needed. Or you might end up not choosing your preferred colour just because the interior might be dirty for the next owner. Life's too short Thumbs Up

At Goodwood on the JLR stand they had an AB with espresso over ivory, so the seats were brown and so were dash top etc, but rest of leather was ivory. It worked very well with the Watimco (?) grey paint and certainly was a combination we considered

Many thanks for your replies. The ivory does look lovely.

Sorry to say but I've ordered a new Cayenne. I really fancied a change this time but wobbled at the last minute.

Cheers
