2010 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey
In the odd spare moment....................

(i have so few these days..................) I have surfed over to the LR Malaysia website and looked at the prices for FFRR out here.

Shocked Shocked You cannot yet get a 2011MY 4.4TDv8, they are still selling the 3.6 here and the 5.0S/C is available here. Spec is TDv8 in HSE guise or Vogue and S/C is, well, it's S/C! There appear to be no optional extras although the cars come pretty well specced with dual screen TV as standard and for some reason in a nation where the temperatures at sea level are rarely below 24C you get a heated steering wheel as standard!
Price list is here http://www.landrovermalaysia.com.my/price_rangerover.pdf
The exchange rate I have is $1 = 3.08RM (Malaysian Ringit) and $1 = GBP 0.6477
so here you go:

In Peninsular Malaysia (inc taxes)

TDv8 HSE 658888RM which by my sums is GBP138,560
TDv8 Vogue 688888RM GBP144,868
5.0S/C 798888RM GBP168,000

In East Malaysia (AKA Borneo and the Islands)
TDv8 HSE 662388RM which by my sums is GBP139,250
TDv8 Vogue 692388RM GBP145,604
5.0S/C 802388RM GBP168,734

In Singapore FFRR is somewhat more expensive than in Malaysia AND in addition to all the taxes you have to also have a Entitlement to own that is something like 50% of the after tax price on top! I'll have a look and see what I can find, but out here there are loads and loads of L322's and more come in every day by sea and are used cars from the UK - there's plenty of money in used prestige cars out here. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

England 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Zambezi Silver

Right, if its that good for FFRR's where do I get enough bubble wrap to send this Laguna Thumbs Up Very Happy

Off to see a D2 in a mo for the Mrs.... though I can't trade in the Laguna as the dash is still screwed up Banging Head

Back on topic it does make you wonder if the engine options are due to taxation issues rather than just being fed the cast offs which I'm sure isn't the case. Emmisions and taxation have been a big influence in the sale of LRs abroad - look at the 110 CSW 12 seater. No person in their right mind would drive one 12 up. It was just to get in to a tax loop hole. I understand the Indian version is probably a 20 seater given how they all pile on every conceivable fixture and it seems the norm. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

At those prices no wonder our FFRR are being stolen and then recycled in places like Malaysia and Singapore.

Perhaps I could offer them my 2007 TDV8 for £60k ! Paul

I can remember a few years ago going ashore here and seeing 100's of the most awful coloured Mercedes E class in shades of solid brown, blue, red and beige with cloth interiors and asked the driver way such awful colours and spec - prices are so crazy for new cars (Don't forget Malaysia is the land of that automotive jewel the Proton - and who would want one of them, so the Malaysian Govt taxes imported cars very very heavily to protect Proton) that locals would rather have plain jane cast-offs from the UK than buy the locally made car, even if it costs them a fortune. When I got home I searched the internet for car dealers in the UK specialising in exporting these cars and found they were paying up to 25% more for your plain jane E class in Beige than any MB dealership in the UK would give you, and they were still maying money even after shipping them half way round the world. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
