Gazellio is that Obertauern,
We ski Austria a lot, are planning to drive down to Zurs for 3 nights, then collect the kids (25 and 27) from Innsbruk, 7 nights in Obergurgle, at least 2 evenings in the NederHut, take the kids back to Innsbruk, back to Zurs for 4 nights and then home via Pasris.
Looking for at least 2 other weeks, must be ski in ski out. Sugestions welcome. letters not necessarily in the right order

Correct and its pretty much 100% snowsure and Austrias only purpose built ski resort due to the climate/heavy natural snowfall. Thumbs Up

Some awesome ideas - but I don't Ski! Perhaps I should have made that clear Rolling with laughter

Living in Cornwall, I've not seen proper snow for years and years - I went to Scotland for my Birthday a couple of January's ago and had a smattering, but nothing to write home about.

Really want a nice hotel for a couple of nights with amazing views, good food, attentive staff and an awesome drive.

If you want a white Christmas the only hope is a ski resort and the last 3 we have had rain on the 25th, many people don't ski, Lech has some good flexibility for non Skiers. letters not necessarily in the right order

As above - you need a ski resort! :-

http://www.chaletmatsuzaka.com/spa/

Or

https://www.hotelgentiana.com/fr/le-gentia...%A0-tignes

Chalets are always super personal and attentive - the couple that run Matsuzaka are very lovely and you have incredible views and meals like a restaurant rather than a fixed menu. Also non skier footpaths up the mountains http://www.larosiere.net/en/skiing-and-sli...ry-skiing/

Hotel Gentiana are possibly the nicest french family, they made me a packed breakfast/lunch for my 5am bus ride home new years day. They do an xmas party dinner and NY party dinner 7 courses. Not great views though but more in town for non skiers.

You're leaving it late to book for guaranteed snow in good accommodation with amazing views Xmas week!!

Although you should get up there and book a ski lesson

Youíre never too old to learn Laughing

Snowing nicely in Andorra already with a reasonable smattering on the roads this morning - bodes well for the start of the season next weekend Thumbs Up

Iíve never done a non-ski winter holiday, but there must be stuff around - thereís plenty of cheaper accommodation thatís a short drive to the slopes, so something like that sounds ideal.

OK, so staying in a couple of hotels in France over a few days. Other than the hotels themselves, we have no plans - ideal.

Hopefully will find some snow if we head towards hire ground Very Happy

Colmar is very pretty. The Vosges mountains are also there so you will probably have some snow. Strasbourg also worth a trip. On the other side of the Rhine is Frieburg which is quite nice, and of course the black forest - which is where the cookoo clock comes from, not Switzerland.

Don't bother with Mulhouse - most of it is a dump.

Basel is nice. I used to live there.
