L322 2002 Front Subframe

Just had the fattie TD6 to my mates garage to sort suspension inactive, took a look under neath and found a hole in the front subframe.

New is £800+vat, on a search my understanding that the 4.4 petrol subframe is the same as a TD6 is that correct? Also how long do they take to change, will be done at an independent garage.

It's reasonable. Solid, though has some surface rust - nothing flaking off, just the black powder coating is missing off some/most of it.

I was asking £125 in the For Sale section, though would do it for £100. Not great pictures, though you should get an idea...

Presume it's the main front subframe and the subframe with the towing eye?

The engine subframe and front towing eye subframe are 2 separate parts. All of this is now off the car. From memory, the engine subframe is held to the body by 4 bolts and to the engine with 2 engine mounts. The steering rack is also bolted to this subframe. The towing eye subframe is bolted to the the engine subframe and the front chassis legs.

So to change it, I’d guess you have to support the engine, undo the 2 steering rack bolts, undo the 2 bolts attached to the towing eye subframe, then the 2 engine mounts and the 4 bolts that attach the subframe to the body and it should come off. Current:
