My car currently has two 7 pin sockets for the towing electrics, I don't tow I just have a bike rack with 13 to 7 pin adapter. Is there any reason not just to swap the twin 7 pin sockets on the car for one 13 pin. I do use a c-tech to charge through the white 7 pin socket but I am sure I can change that as well.

Anything to watch out for and if anyone has done it a source for 13pin plugs and sockets. Geoff

I did it - a bit fiddly but fairly straightforward.

I got mine off eBay.

IIRC mine had some kind of resin in the sockets, so I had to cut the cable & strip back the wires.

You can buy from LR a single 13 pin connector cost about £100 simple plug and play, I got mine through eBay which is a Landrover main agent so could give a discount.

But if you already have the cabling, its £7.49 delivered and connect up 13 wires - depends on how handy you are I suppose......

Think the 13 pin socket is tested as part of the MOT, 7 pins are not. 56 TDV8 Vogue SE
