2010 TDV8 vogue restricted performance

Hi guys,
Had to run to Edinburgh this weekend from Cheshire and got stuck in traffic for an hour and a half virtually crawling.

Shortly after and back on the motorway traffic cleared so popped on the cruise and got going.

After a few kick downs and some grey smoke the car went into restricted performance mode. Stopped, restarted all was ok for a while but a prod of the go pedal and fault popped again. Happened 3 times on the way up..... I drove very light footed on the way back and It happened once.

Any ideas of the cause and fix?

she is on 107k and EGRS were replaced at 60k ish. Dealer serviced up to 94k

thanks

The first thing I would do is to check the top inter cooler hoses for splits. Could be as simple as that. 2017 Jaguar F Pace 25t Portfolio - still part of the JLR family 😀
2009 3.6 V8 (MY2010) - my first ever diesel! - now also gone Sad

+1

Very common issue

Is it a 3.6 or 4.4 ?

NMJ did a good writeup here for the 3.6

Yup, I did Thumbs Up

Top inter cooler hoses would be my guess if it’s a 3.6. Cheap easy spanner at home job do both while you are at it. Most Dealers should stock the parts. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If its a 3.6 then check the two top intercooler hoses as they split for a past time! Thumbs Up

My EGR sensors were faulty and the whole DPF was full of soot - decided to have it cleaned and refitted with new sensors rather than paying LR £2800 for a new one! 2005 L322 Vogue Gold gone

replaced hoses

Ok so inspected the two hoses.....bingo the left hand one had a split along the bottom of about 3 inches, so quick visit to the stealers and bought a pair and fitted them.

No more restricted performance and no more smoke, however she has developed a small hesitation under spirited acceleration.

Any ideas?????

They are prone to air leaks above and beyond your split hose sir... Can you get it smoke tested somewhere?

Glad you found your main problem Thumbs Up

Glad the main problem is sorted.

Not sure on the hesitation tbh. Where in the Rev range does it appear. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
