Might be wise to try and speak to the previous owner - car might have been professionally valeted and had some kind of coating applied - some coatings only need water to clean off dirt. |

That's my issue, it looks like it has been coated with something so I don't want to ruin it, will try just water on it |

I too think you should contact the previous owner... Some of our cars are "Syramik" coated. Polishing the car removes the expensive coating!
