England 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Two weeks ago I went up to see Phil at Old Forge Garage in Lincoln armed with print out from Gap on what to do to enable park heating which he did, checked it and it says enabled. So a week goes by and still not showing up on the screen, out of curiosity I bridged the red/yellow wire and white/green wire on the park heater receiver connector with a fuse to see if any thing happened and lo and behold the fbh and fan kicked in, spurred on by this I started looking at remote control for it, after following different posts from different forums found one on a motor home forum about using wifi and a phone app did consider it but then came across one using Velleman vm 130 wireless remote now I just happen to have one of these bought when local Maplins closed thinking maybe one day do the flappy paddle gear change. So this past week on and off I have been wireing it in and with it being 2 channel I have set 1 channel for 15 minutes and other for 30 minutes and it works fine, also have now done the two battery fit and while I had the main battery disconnected did the battery reset thinking nothing to lose by it. Now on connecting battery back up and switching ignition on to set clock ect still only got aux ventilation on screen but switched it off and back on to start up do steering reset and now have heat and vent on there! Sorry long post but it might just help any body looking to do the same. Very Happy Just to add have also bought a second transmitter ( it can have up to 31 ) so one for in car and one in house so I can switch it on while I get my boots on.

Thank you for all of your help just replaced my rear wiper motor today so decided to disconnect the battery and low and behold it works

I am right in saying that if I set the timer on a cold morning it should now warm the car

Cool. I think maybe the instrument cluster reset speeds up the waiting bit then.

Yep, it will warm the car up. Doesn’t get mega warm, but it’s def warmer than outside on a frosty morning.

Well it depends on what you call warm lol, after 15 mins mine has just got the chill off the air out the vents but maybe I have a valve not working properly now, it did however clear the ice off the wind screen when we had a frost couple of days ago. If its nithering outside any bit of heat in the car is a bonus I guess, set the timer for in the day see what happens, glad it now shows on screen.

I think it depends on how soon you get in the RR after the FBH stops. If i time it right , the interior is toasty. 2015 4.4 AB

What a result set the timer last night went out this morning all of the cars had a thick frost on. Well all except one all of the windows defrosted and nice and warm inside, I could get used to this. Very Happy

Mines stored inside so doesn’t get too frosty, but it is nice to get in a non freezing interior.

You will be looking to add the fob remote next.

I so need this!

Any way to configure auxiliary heating with the RSW All Comms?

Is the remote receiver hardware ready to go if one gets a remote?

I regret getting the All Comms instead of the Gap unit - seems like its functionality far surpasses it.

To what extent does the FBH heat the engine coolant, or is it primarily the cabin?

On mine it heats the water temp to just above the blue mark but also on an icy morning it's nice to go out and find no ice on the windows. It does warm the cabin not hot just takes the edge off.
Hope this helps
