@ babknob

I presume you needed a working key to unlock? .

No, mine popped the lock so I could just open without using the key. Of course lost all the codes and had to get a reset but it got the car moving.

You can put a charger on via the white capped socket.

How, Can you explain in more detail please?

Hi, Not sure about white capped socket as I have a 13 pin tow kit, but you can charge the battery via the unswitched +12v & Gound pins of the towing electrics.

In the case of the 13 pin that would be across 9+ve & 13-ve.

But do not put on high charge as the link is fused, you should only trickle charge it or you'll blow the fuse, (or worse) and then your up Sh*t Creek.

Check what type of socket you have and google for the pinouts if it's not an ISO 13 pin.

Check the forum shop, they sell a range of plug in adapters .
I used one to make up a handy charging board, but mine is the older white cap version.

Hi,

I made a weatherproof charger from a weatherproof box from Screwfix, my old bike charger with a 13 pin towing plug and parts I had lying around, works a treat.

I could not find anything on the shop so what if I just get an 8 pin from a caravan shop and strip the wires and connect to my battery charger but just use the lower 6v option to get enough juice into the battery for a few hours. If this fails I'll call AA or smash a window to pop the bonnet. Anyone know the layout of the 8 pin adaptor?

Thanks,

Adrian

They should be 7 pin, here's a generic diagram from the internet.

Someone should be able to advise on what pins to use, I've not got this type Fuji White 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westmiinster

That wont do it, you need 13.8v and above to charge the 12v battery.

As is probably in one of the replies, jack the Right hand front of the car up, connect charger to the starter motor positive terminal and a good chassis earth and you are good to go.

Cant really understand that diagram but I'm assuming pin 4 for the live and no idea about the negative?

Earth = negative

But TBH - if you have to ask then be very very careful Laughing

And that's the pinout for the auxiliary (white) socket for twin electrics. If you only have a single 7 pin socket, you're out of luck.

Ok so I have live to pin 4 and negative to pin 3 which seems correct.
