Remote locking key sync for Japanese spec 4.2

Are there any Japanese members that can help me with a 2004 (2006 model year) 4.2 SC built for Japan?

It has the two button key which uses infra red to operate the central locking. No matter what I try I cannot get the keys to sync to work the remote locking.

Do the Japanese market have a different way of syncing the key from the normal UK three button key?

Should be the same for all 2002 to 2009 -- though the units sometimes have a real wobble.

Let me do some digging through my docs and see if I can find anything specific Smile Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Thank you.

As far as I can test everything seems it all seems to be fine.

So far I have tried an new mirror, different BCM etc. The sensor in the mirror seems to work as the voltage changes when you press a button on the key. The wiring from mirror to BCM seems to fine. So at a loss what to try next Sad

Hmm, I may be wrong in my early assertion !

Completely different system -- not come across it before, I wonder if IID can test it?

Anyway -- this will throw a small amount of illumination: -

Well after a tip off from a friend suggesting I search for BMW Japan import and infra locking, I came across this which has one more step than normal and the remote locking is working! So there was no need to spend all the time and money I did Sad

So if anyone need to sync the two button key with infra remote, this is how you do it.
