SLROC drivers day - shiny FFRR suitable

Cracking weekend this weekend for the SLROC. Great weather on the Bathgate Hills to the west of Edinburgh and something for every kind of Land Rover be it a Series 1 (there were several) through 101's and hybrids to Freelander1'd and 2's RRS's D3's and even a 2 week old FFRR S/C (it and the RRS stayed in the carpark unfortunately)
Saturday was competition day with both the RTV and Tyro events and today was a non competitive driving day over the same routes and trials sections if you wanted to play on them.
These photos are not mine (I forgot to charge my camera battery Embarassed Embarassed AND I fogot I had my iphone with me....)
If you didn't want to do anything testing them you just stayed on the arrowed route on the grass, there was even a special area with some quite testing bits for junior drivers. Only one downer for the day - I came back severely wind burned from the cutting SE wind, but at least it was warm in the car out of the wind!

BTW 114 cars turned out (not all Land Rovers but those that weren't paid £5 more than those that were in Land Rovers!) and more than £1000 was raised for various charities from this one event 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I cannot have been trying hard enough at this stage.................. the 90 is now sandy brown and big mud lumps all over

Some very nice videos of this event have gone up on youtube -
This first one best to have the volume turned right down as the wind noise drowns out everythinghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fiTaNJwotU

You can turn the volume back up for this one

How come Land Rover owners are so attracted to mud?
There were two L322's there too - one retired early with EAS problems............ and the other managed to tear of a side step, but at least they had a go. This site is a huge private site that is normally a farm field owned by a club member. Just the arrowed drive was 5 miles long, without the RTV and Tyro special sections. This was all on the Sunday Driving Day, on the Saturday the club had the competitive sessions. As you can see just about every sort/ version of Land Rover comes along, although some of the shinier cars never seem to get past the car-parking areas! 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
