After doing all my driving lessons in a mk2 Nissan Micra my instructor changed cars the day of my test into a mk2 Vauxhall Corsa, scraped through the test as the micras turning circle was probably better than a black cab!

A Peugeot 205 gr with denim seats, yes denim seats. Anybody know what Peugeot was thinking when they came up with that idea for seat fabric?

Learnt mainly in my dad's Morris 1100, and took test in driving instructor's Mini Clubman 1000 after 3 "proper" lessons. Test was 9am on 2nd January 1974 with light sleet falling. Andrew

Can't remember my test car to save my life, but my Dad was a Superintendent Engineer for the county's sewage treatment plants, at the main place they had a series of private roads so he taught me to drive there in an old Ford Pop with just three forward gears. So after that it was half a dozen lessons with a tutor, the tutor's quote was 'I am teaching you to pass the test, not drive' then through the test.

The learning phase was always a bit smelly to say the least Rolling with laughter Happy days with my long departed Dad that I will never forget.

The tin foil wonder! I remember my dad having a few of those, I also remember having to get out and walk up a steep hill in one because it didn’t have enough power to get up with 5 people in it😂
