Navigation - Destination entry on the move

Currently my sat nav disables destination entry once speed is above about 5mph, i have had a range rover sport hire car for the last week which allows destination entry on the move at any speed i have found a landrover service bulletin that tells the dealer how to enable it via their diagnostic tool fault code reader does anybody know of anyother way other than pay the dealer to do it..... Below is the landrover service bulletin.. can any of the OBD readers or other handheld devices that are cheap to buy help you do this?? Confused

An OBD Scanner will not do this, you require something along the lines of a Black Box MSV or similar. I'm sure BBS wil be along shortly Laughing , if not Google Black Box Solutions.

I can't remember how and what you do, but there is an area on the screen that you hold and it brings up a code entry, will try and dig out my notes. letters not necessarily in the right order

I seem to recall something like pressing on the centre top of the screen for about ten seconds brings up some secret menu, first read it on the RRSport forum. Discovery 4 HSE

the 1791 code does work on a FFRR, but was disabled by Land Rover on 2007 or 2008 MY.

Tried it on mine, couldn't access the secret menu but that could be because I upgraded my sat nav to a 2009 disc and perhaps it was locked down by then. Discovery 4 HSE

Thanks, i can get the secret menu up and use code 1791 from the navigation page to enter on the move also i have entered code 753 which allows some other functions, self check and a few other tests just wondered if any of the avalable readers would allow me to enable it permenently!! Im assuming everybody knows which page and where to hold there screen to get to these functions? just in case on mine i from the mappage press menu in bottom left corner, then on the next screen press and hold the top edge of the screen in the centre for approx 10 - 20 seconds this will then bring up the page that requests you to enter the codes, 1791 for full use of sat nav on the move and 753 for diagnostics, does anyone know any other codes and what they do???? Very Happy Thumbs Up

Hi Adam, the upgraded sat nav disc unfortunately disables the 1791 function, I don't know of a way round it.

I know, TBH, i can't think of a time when I have wanted to input on the move. I think having ALL funtions enabled on the move would be better and ALL of the time, not just when you access a code screen, which sounds like it could be pretty offputting while driving! Discovery 4 HSE

Yes agreed, it was a hastle going through the codes (for a passenger Wink ), but useful say if you were on a Motorway en route and needed to enter a post code or address to alter your route and were unable to stop.

Of course you all do have destination on the move , relay useful things like home or any other pre-set destinations that you know well . Very useful when you are too drunk to remember Shocked Whistle 2008 MY Supercharged
