Begging for help ( audio )

Hi all I appreciate any help it’s driving me crazy!

I’ve rung About 10 different audio repair experts and been told to Censored off.

It’s the logic 7 system with the black back amplifier

‘My 2006 Range Rovers audio is intermittent at best, I have no volume control through steering wheel, power button does nothing, no secret menu.

I’ve got the Bluetooth blank and I’ve checked for moisture and the only thing that seems to have any issue is the tv tuner, amp seems like there is no corrosion at all on it.

It will work for maybe 5-10 minutes then orange flashing light and no audio at all until left for multiple hours and then it’ll work for 10 minutes, I’ve also tried blanking the tmc to no avail and tried all fuses

Thanks for literally any help, it’s making me want to sell the car which is ashame because I love driving it.

Well, I know absolutely naff all about the electrics on here, but i'll give my two'pennyworth.
Change the head unit first? These are the same as the X5's? Reason I say that is, it gives you more scope for a decent used one off the 'net.
I'll give you an ignorant guess, it's either one end or the other, so head unit or big black box of tricks in the boot?
After reading this you'll probably wished I kept quiet. Rolling with laughter 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

I recommend you give yourself some time. You will need to remove all the modules from the rear of the car, dismantle each one so that you can check the circuit boards (PCBs) for corrosion/water ingress. Give a good clean with electrical contact cleaner and a toothbrush or similar soft brush. Also check all the contacts in the connections. Then see if that has helped. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

I have now stripped the rear amps and checked the PCBs, tv tuner has abit of corrosion on it rest is clean I have found some droplets of moisture on the floor, might send the amp off to be tested by a independent shop and not tell them it’s a Range Rover lol

Baris used to be a good guy to deal with on these things. He put a bluetooth module in mine. Still didn't drown out the noise of the TD6 though. Laughing

It was a few years ago but would recommend him.

I'd say best way you'll be able too get to the bottom of this is find someone who's got the spec motor with yours, offer them some wedge for the day and see if you can swap some of the modules, amp etc with a known working one. Least that way you'll be able too figure it out.

I'd hazard a guess going by your description it's more then likely the head unit with the no volume, screen etc
