Is there a reason why we wouldn’t have a need to super lock?

It seems odd that we need to press it twice to lock the car and set the alarm… i would have expected this to be the default! Or at least a single press also sets the alarm…. How many people out there only press the button once and the alarm isn’t being set???

I have an L322 so dont have keyless entry, but will be digging out the IIDTool to enable super lock just so my alarm is set! (I believe this is the case on the L322)

Yes i could just press the button twice, but i will forget! it will take a while before the muscle memory kicks in Laughing Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

I understood that one press locks the car and sets the exterior alarm. Two presses adds the interior alarm and deadlocks. That way you can leave a dog in the car, for example, and it won’t trigger the alarm if you only press once. 2018 SDV8 Autobiography (‘6Cool

Switched off keyless (annoying but manageable really); visible deterrence via a stoplock pro elite (less hassle Vs disklok); double lock always. Just in case put keys in a faraday box too. Finally, block the car in my drive with my other less desirable vehicle. Am thinking of a ghost and if I get it may switch the keyless back on again and not block her in. Though probs keep the disklok.

Also have a dummy OBD port thing but haven't fit it as yet. L405 4.4 AB Loire Blue

I disabled the keyless entry on all of my LR's, double lock and use Faraday pouches AND boxes. I became paranoid when a (very close) neighbour had his Focus RS taken one night in complete silence and without either of his two sets of keys. '17 RANGE ROVER L405 SDV8 AB LOIRE BLUE with INDUS SILVER ROOF

Never heard of the double lock feature – I'm guessing this must be region specific? There's no mention of that in my US spec owner's manual. It only mentions 'single lock' by pressing the lock button, and the exterior perimeter alarm is armed. 2021 P525 | Eiger Gray

if car is double locked, can it still be opened with the key blade in the passenger door, should the battery go flat?
(all be it with the alarm trying to go off etc.)

From WSM

"The smart key contains an emergency access key. This can be used in the event of failure of the smart key or the
startup battery to unlock the vehicle. The driver door handle contains a concealed mechanical key barrel which can be
used with the emergency key to access the vehicle. This will not disable the perimeter or alarm sensors systems and
the visual and audible alarm will be activated when the door is unlocked/opened. To cancel the alarm, the smart key
must be held next to the Immobilizer Antenna Unit (IAU) and the stop/start switch must be operated." 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

Needs to be Martin - I live in London! Some of my neighbours have either electronic gates or bollards primarily to protect their cars... L405 4.4 AB Loire Blue

2012 L322 ,I have Ghost, steering wheel lock, tracker ,faraday box, will soon be having bollard fitted.I have lost L405 & L322 in the last couple of years.
A neighbour had his Range Rover driven through a hedge to get around a bollard.RR are prevalent to be stolen around us but Audis & Mercs are also targeted.
