4.2 SC Belt(s) replacement guide.

Hi team,

I've just spent the last 30 minutes browsing via search..to no avail.

I'm just wondering is anybody aware of a decent guide on how to replace the belts on my 4.2 SC ?

Also,

- Am I correct in saying I must absolutely remove the fan?
- What tools do I need to remove the fan?

Thanks a lot. (07) 2007 3.6 TDV8 L322 - 135k miles.

Hi Coner,
Its a easy job. But no need to undo the airco pipe, just bent
it out of the way a bit with care.
Look in the WM in the Wiki.
And remember to loosen the fan in the same direction as the
she is rotating.
Ohh the spanner is 36mm.
This is my diy holding tool, but if you are lucky a good hit on the
spanner with a hammer wil do the job also.

It's an easy enough job mate. Biggest pain is the fan. So order one of these, get a 36mm spanner and the rest is history. You'll need a 3/8 ratchet piece or just the ratchet on its own to take the tension off. Replace the pullys as well while your at it. Only something around £100 for both of them

Thanks guys,

Would the laser fan spanner be any good listed here? It seems cheap anyway.

It works but you have very little leverage on it. Go out and get a long spanner. You'll be able to give it a good smack to the LEFT and it will come off.
