TDV8 4.4 fuel consumption

I know there are a lot of variables but what fuel consumption do you guys get on the TDV8 4.4?Talking actual, not computer readout.
The best I managed was 10L/100km(28mpg) on a 700km trip(125 km/h).Towing a small 500kg trailer @ 125kph indicated I get 11.5l/100km.On a recent holiday trip covering 4600km towing the offroad van of 1200kg @ 115km/h indicated the consumption was 14.9L/100.It included 1000km of dirt road @ 80 km/h.

Second question is how accurate is the computer readout for a trip?My readout is way out like indicating 8.6L/100 while actual is 10!!!The readout of our FL2 is spoton!!!Is there a way to get the readout and actual closer? 2012 TDV8 Vogue SE 4.4

If the range shows over 500 miles when I fill up I am happy and know it's about 30mpg.
Better than any previous car I have owned. 👍👍 G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

I get between 5.5 and 6 miles per litre Rolling with laughter

Translates to 25 - 28mpg ish.

That is on mixed motorway, A road and B road driving. Steady motorway drving will push it up to 30mpg.

The computer always reads higher than this, typically 2-3mpg better.

I tend to drive in a reasonably relaxed fashion, but the turbos get a workout each morning on the M4 slip road. Twisted Evil Bish.

Real world I'm getting an average of 21 across the board - mainly slow town driving with only the occasional motorway journey. However, have also confirmed I managed the sacred 30+ on a longer trip... 30.1 Rolling with laughter ------------------------------------------------------

26 mpg for mixed everyday driving
31-32 mpg for motorway keeping below 80mph
Town only driving, very low 20's

Same as most of above. Mixed driving gets mid to high 20s.
On long drives sitting at 70 on motorway, maybe 30.

Muppets numbers are an outlier. Can't say I have ever achieved much more than 500 out of a full tank. Usually something like 470 out of a tank.

Germany 2012 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 V8 Santorini Black

It's always fun to dig up an old post, no?
Smile

Since I bought my 2012 4.4 TDV8 in 2018 I've calculated the real consumption every fill up.
Tbh I've done that with all the cars I've owned to find possible problems, a sudden increase in fuel consumption could indicate issues.
I have actually caught a not connected vacuum hose with this data.
No matter what I did, the consumption would stay up, then I found the not connected vacuum hose and the oil vapor spot under the front part of plastic engine cover.
It was a dodgy job replacing the multi v-belt tensioner by an official (German) RR dealership, half under warranty, where I bought the car.
They fixed the tube and cleaned everything but I never went back there again.

Anyway...

The fuel consumption computer is always off, it's never been close to real world consumption.
If it shows for example 8.6/100 ( the German way Wink ) it is 9.2/100
As far as I've calculated it's always 6-7% optimistic.
I have a 2cm stack of receipts to prove it Laughing 2012 4.4TDV8

For me its always been between 24mpg and 27mpg local running, on a long run sticking to 62mph on the motorways I've managed to creep up to 37mpg, but that is computer read out, so based on what others have said it might actually be a tad more...

How about this achieved between M6 Poplar 2000 services and M40 Warwick Services. This is approx. 110 Miles distance.

I was trying to hyper mile and followed the largest lorry’s I could, average speed was 52mph.
I know the dash display is optimistic on mine it is 10% high giving a real figure of 45mpg.
Still only get 25mpg around town.
