Voltage Electro Chromatic wing mirrors

Hi

Does anybody know what the voltage is that is applied to the wing mirrors to activate the Electro Chromatic dimming function?

Mine don't change color anymore, so what to check if any voltage arrives at the mirror's dimming terminals

It's usually around 2VDC but importantly it's current limited to 60mA - so don't go powering them up at 12V with a 5A fuse to protect them....
They're controlled by the rear view mirror, no local ground.

Hi guys

A brief update.

To mimic night time conditions, I covered the light sensor at the backside of the rear view mirror (square opening in the back right hand side of the mirror) with a piece of duct tape. This immediatly triggered the dimming of the interior rear view mirror. But the LH and RH wing mirrors stayed clear.

After removing the black rectangular connector of the LH mirror, the RH mirror all of a sudden started to dim as it should. I measured the voltage which was about 1.33 Volts. I cleaned the connector of the LH mirror - reconnected it and both wing mirrors were dimming again!

I did some testing and while the LH mirror was disconnected, the RH mirror stopped dimming at a certain moment. Reconnecting the LH mirror started the dimming of both mirrors again. So there seems to be some dependency. To be sure I also cleaned the RH mirror's electro chromatic connector.

For now I all works again. Thanks for your advise!
