Coolant leak info required

Evening, Technical is locked for some reason, i have been fitting the new front knuckle to my L405 ( replaceing the side that didnt collapse) on my way into the shop this mornng i got a coolant level warning, with the car up on the ramp i could see the drivers side rear of the undertray had red coolant puddles in it, looks like one if the pipes are leaking, so looking up on the Rave manual, but i dont see them, any one know what they are called, they appear to go to the gear box, but the transmission cooler pipes cary oil and are the passenger side, im not sure what they are for, ran out of time to get the bash plate off to look further, just wondering if anyone can shed some light on the purpose of coolant pipes under the front drivers footwell area?? Do you have rear climate control ?

The rear stuff has its own hevac unit which is supplied by hot coolant pipes that run from front to rear on the drivers side. If you do a bit more searching, you'll find some threads about the pipes as they have been known to corrode in places. It might be those pipes ? V8 or else ...

Top man, yes i do... it kind of came to me ths mornig that would be the only logical reason for coolant there, my intial thoughts was that there may have been some diesel warming system , hence why i posted , but then in teh light of day the penney dropped, im going to get under it tomorrow and investigate futher..

Thanks mate

IIRC Replacing the pipes with genuine is a huge job, apparently a lot has to be removed to replace the original pipe, some have just used a rubber pipe and rerouted it to save all the dismantling... Thumbs Up Pete

Thanks Pete, I suspect that would be the case, hopefully the diameter will be a size we use for AC hard lines, then I can do a repair section rather than replace, I will do a post if possible.
