4.4 2016 boost noise under full load

Hi all, new to the page although not to landrover (I own www.nomadicscotland.com)

Looking for some advice.

Just had a new right hand turbo fitted due to a coolant leak. The car is now making a whosh of air noise for a second on full throttle. I can hear it from the pedal area and when the window is down its quite loud outside. Sound like some boost is being dumped.

There is a valve along underneath the radiator which I believe is so.e Kind of balancing valve between the turbos. This had been disconnected prior to the turbo replacement and no noise was auditable. This is now connected, could it be this valve? Going back into dealer next week but would love your thoughts and possibly a pdf manual of the complete engine system to study.

There is a workshop manual in the Wiki, if you have a look at “ FUEL CHARGING AND CONTROLS - TURBOCHARGER - TDV8 4.4L DIESEL” It has a great overview of the setup as well as some useful diagrams showing operation.

I assume that if the Charge air recirculation solenoid / shut off valve was unplugged it would be flagging a EML / reduced performance? Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

If there was a boost leak, it would be constant and throw up Restricted Performance faults

Looked at one last week that had a noise similar to a split hose, which turned out to be a corroded (and snapped) exhaust clamp. Worth checking Thumbs Up

Thanks, I can best describe the noise as someone opening a 2ltr bottle of fizzy coke! No codes no or restricted performance. A short sharp blast of air

It's got a padlock next to it, unable to download

Found the fault, bloody pipe wasn't connected for the turbo balancers.
