Correct tyre size

I have a 2011 4.4 tdv8 with 20” alloys what’s the correct tyre size? My book says 255 50 20 but I have 255 55 20

the 50 profile is the correct one..

many have fitted the 55 profile because of the availability of wheels with tyres of that size on ebay..

the 55 also give a better softer ride. ... - .- -.

Issues with speedo that reads bang-on is it's unintuitive if you have been driving around all your life with speedo's that over read so you have no room for speed error - just ask the archbishop who was fined + 3 points for doing 25 in a 20mph zone.....
Also unless you have a same size spare you would be ill advised to drive very far at all with mismatched rolling radius's across an axle.
Having said that they look better IMO, ride better and the speedo can be reset to read like it should with a GAP IID tool. Also worth doing this for optimum operation of gearbox, ABS and maybe other systems which may be influenced by not having the correct rolling radius data. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
