United Kingdom

Its been well covered on here, but the L405 was getting a bit of a challenge to insure, even the LR driveaway insurance offered as part of the initial sale refused to cover my new L405 5.0 AB and LV said they wouldn't cover my L405 TDV8 when the policy was up for renewal due to rising thefts.

JLR haven't really done much to stay ahead of the game as far as car security.

Someone told me they rang the police to report the theft of their car (L405) and the person from the Met responded "and what colour is the Range Rover"

By “normal” standards, they seem to be as secure as anything (particularly with UWB keys) - don’t suppose anyone predicted thieves chopping holes in body panels to hack the CAN bus.
