Fitted the spare wheel removing strap system. This should avoid me hurting my back trying to remove the wheel if I get a puncture. Unfortunately I hurt my back removing the wheel in order to fit the straps Rolling with laughter 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Picked it up after having the power steering hoses replaced, happily with original LR parts not aftermarket.

Picked up my new front dust shields which I'll be modifying to be "slide on" rather than "hub out"

Looks like I'll need discs and pads within the next 6 months, any tips on best source for these? Presume not main dealer!

1.Installed a MKIV Navi with 2019 maps. As archaic it may be, it's a far cry from the MKIII and something I can actually use Thumbs Up The female voice is also a nice break from the...butler's. And matches the voice command, too Laughing

2.Installed a fresh boot lid windscreen lower rubber trim. Halfway I almost regretted trying it. I remember what a pain it was to remove 3 years ago but never expected it to be such a bitch to re-fit. Evil or Very Mad Next time (doubt will ever be) I need to mess with it I'm just smashing the bloody windscreen and let insurance sort the rest. Twisted Evil

Collected from independent. Oil service and replaced air con compressor, condenser, dryer.regas etc. Whilst the front was off had the serpentine belt and tensioner replaced as well.

It was away for three and a half weeks. Difficulty getting parts. Needed to replace one of the connection hoses from the compressor to the condenser (hose is not an adequate description it is much more involved!).

Part of the delay was one of the well known suppliers showed it as available from their supplier with a quick turn around. When it didn't turn up as expected I chased them and they checked and their supplier - Land Rover- didn't have it. When I queried why their website showed it available from their suppliers when it wasn't, the reply was "we assume". Fat lot of use!! Other companies had the sense to show it out of stock.

The part -no JUF500350 - was unobtainable in the uk. I ended getting it from Belgium from a company I had dealt with when living in France. They only had one left in stock.

Morale of that is make sure you can get the parts before doing a job. Land Rover appear to not have any stock of parts for our L322s. John

Got the wheels refurbished in brilliant silver. I'd had them diamond cut previously which looks great for all of about 6 months before the laquer falls apart and the corrosion sets in...

Finally managed to pin down the slight loss of coolant ( approx 0.2L every couple of months).
Found one of the coolant hoses on the heater valve was weeping with the pressurizer at 15PSI.

I have clay barred, machine corrected the paint and then polished the car.

I also machine polished the front and rear windscreen trims as they were almost grey. Pleased with the result.

Had the tracking done. Was driving quite true but felt something was a little off, I thought maybe at the back but it was the fronts.

Had it sorted but when I drove it it was still off but worse so had to go back, the second time one wheels toe was off again so they reset it but this time with the engine running - guessing the hydraulic pressure changes it slightly (I maybe wrong). But it worked second time thankfully.

Here’s a bad picture of the before, but forgot to take the after…
