That does look very nice, I love the colour, as others have said, it could be something else not the gearbox causing the 'thump' Drive shaft / prop shaft etc
If it were me I would negotiate a discount due to the faults, carry out a full service including ALL oils and get someone like Bodsy to carry out a full gearbox flush and filter change, then go from there.
