Set off for a week in Great Yarmouth this morning. All loaded up, full of diesel… away we went. 40 mins into the nearly 4 hour journey… “Restricted Performance”… no acceleration to talk of, it didn’t like it in Worksop. I limped it back home and loaded all the stuff into my girlfriends 2006 Fiesta and we set off on holiday again….

I have to say that it’s my 8th year with this one and I’ve not got an IID tool. Got one for my TD6….. so can’t do that bit.

Yeah, I thought I was doing well 🤣🤣. I might see if the AA will play ball just to see what they say. Given the issue didn’t happen at home. They helped me last time 🤣.

Just think if you had a GAP IID tool you may well have identified the issue straight away and been on your way if it was an easy fix....... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

🤣🤣 I do have the odd browse, but am reading stuff about iffy plastics and I got an insurance quote and it’s about £1000 more than my 322 for a 2016/17 AB. Maybe I’m looking for excuses not to look at one. It’s a big £15k outlay for the same engine and gearbox, but I dare say there is a lot more to it than that, like you have found, and it’s so much better. I’d settle for no rust as the main reason… 🤣

It's a 4.4 TDV8, so most likely a hose.

Indeed, need to have a quick look when I get back. Did hope to ring a specialist on Monday and at least get a weeks jump on booking in… I sold the IID on here after I sold my TD6.

Horror scenario!!! Id be looking at hoses first off- did you notice a lot of black smoke when you put your foot down after she had a paddy? A good sign a boost hose has given up 2009 (2010 MY) 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography

I didn’t notice any smoke. Wouldn’t really accelerate. I’m hoping it’s something simple like that. I can’t even remember which donut hoses it has. Pretty sure it’s the upgraded ones…

Sounds like both turbos, both EGR's, both cylinder head gaskets, the gearbox and rear axle to me....
