Cost for new brake discs and pads

Hi All,

My car is coming due for service and there is a pronounced lip on the brake discs so I think they will need doing.

Does anyone know what the target price should be for replacement disc and pads?

I am taking it to my local Indy but I don't have to get them to do the work.

I have had decent service from my local Halfords Autocentres for my wife's BMW so I'm not opposed to using them for it.

Thanks in advance.

I can't remember the cost, but when I had mine done, I got the genuine parts from Duckworth's (site sponsor) and had my local Indy fit them. Worth giving Robin a call to ask

Last time I bought some discs, Robin at Duckworths was cheaper than anyone else... Thumbs Up Pete

Halfords? What parts do they supply? Are they trustworthy on such a car?

From my limited experience, windscreen repairs and new batteries, they blow a bit hot & cold. All of the staff seem very good, but their back office left a bit to be desired.

Have a go yourself! It’s a nuts and bolts job, not much harder than changing a wheel.

I got these KINETIX drilled/ventilated/plated discs for £588.00 last year (full set F&R, with pads/springs/pins and wear wires), price is £71 more now, but excellent quality:

(My TDV6 has V8 brakes, so you need to search for the correct item).
Delivered very quickly in 2-3 days. Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I went to do my front discs and pads today do you think I could undo those caliper bolts, no way just too tight so will have to ask my local garage if they would slacken them off a bit for me. Censored off as the back ones were no problem at all. overfinch modified

It's an easy job. But you do have to put the handbrake into service mode.

I bought Brembo discs and pads for my L405 SDV8 and it wasn't cheap, but it wasn't expensive either.

Discs
09.A773.11
09.B504.11

Pads
P 44 023
P 44 021

Cost 18 months ago was £530.

There is a YouTube video available showing the disc and pad change including how to manually put the park brake into service mode.
