Burning Smell (similar to rubbing brake discs) - Gearbox ?

67 Plate. 3.0. On any half decent run and especially on inclines... There is a burning smell similar to that of rubbing brake discs. I have checked all of the discs and pads and they all seem fine. Also I have had Land Rover assist come out and they cannot see anything wrong anywhere.

Could this be a gearbox issue, hence the more prominent smell on prolonged inclines or maybe the parking brake? - anyone had anything similar or does anyone have any ideas for what to investigate?!

I'm concerned as it's taking us to France in a few weeks.

My car had a really strong burning smell last weekend outside of the car. I put it down to a DPF regen. It hasn't reappeared since.
