List of companies that will insure a FF sensibly priced

May be a useful thread and save a lot of time for all of us when shopping around, I've wasted a fair few hours so far filling out forms or on the phone only to be told Range Rovers aren't covered or the price is a joke.

Tesco via Gocompare is my cheapest so far at £957 Big Cry Current

The problem with a list is that it will always vary dependent upon individual circumstances

I've used the 4 main comparison site, it's amazing how much the same companies go up and down across the comparison sites.

The main aim of the thread is to find companies that will actually provide cover at a reasonable price.

If I'm going to waste my time on a quote I'd rather do it with a company that I know will actually cover a range rover. Current

Just before we sold our 2011 L322, the insurance price had doubled from under £500 to a grand (no claims, no changes whatsoever).

It's absolutely crazy that stolen L405's & newer RR Sports should impact L322 insurance prices!

Seems the majority of stolen luxury cars are going straight out to Cyprus, as well as Albania and African nations. Not sure the thiefs would bother with an L322 when newer luxury cars are available for exactly the same risk to themselves? 1992 RR Classic 3.9 efi Vogue

Is the price hike on L322's driven by parts availability?

If your car is off the road for weeks because the parts are not available from JLR and the insurance company is paying for your hire car, that quickly becomes much more expensive than the cost of the repairs themselves.... 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Could well be a factor GraemeC, I'm not sure which parts are affected by the JLR parts supply sites consolidation debacle? Probably all of them if they're moving to just one site Shocked

In fact your theory could well explain a part of the L405 & L460 insurance price hikes (in addition to the alarming number being knicked daily - 90 a day in London alone I read somewhere).

Sadly, I would have thought the majority of L322's with panel damage above say a light front end (front wing / bonnet / grille) would almost certainly now be written off as uneconomical repairs?

L322's are still being stolen to order for the Kenyan market ( they have RHD there ) , it's a big market apparently - not good the scum that do this seem to operate with such ease, the police it seems are not able to nick the gangs organsing these thefts on a massive scale !

On the estate I live on, three L405's have been stolen this year and one 2012 L322 - its shocking when cars are stolen in locked garages and on people's driveways !

The current insurers for my other two vehicles wouldn’t insure the Range Rover. I went scouting around on comparison sites and best for me was eSure Flex at £1037.

I was just on the phone to JLR setting up my new account. I was moaning at having to pay for tracker service etc. considering the well known security issues and the incumbent ridiculous insurance quotes out there.

They gave me JLR insurance number which may be worth a go.

0800 9170740

The issue for me is the insurance companies don’t appear to take on board the new security upgrade but maybe JLR insurance will. Basically put there money where their mouth is.

I lost find it strange that if you add security to your vehicle , Ghost immobilisers for instance they are suggesting that it voids your warranty. Had JLR security been up to scratch in the first place, customers wouldn’t have to fit their own security.

Grrrrr …….

done with meerkat, esure was lowest at £1107 - 2020 5.0sc Autobiog 2 x drivers (one only on an auto licence and one not lived in UK that long, both in early 40s. My Disco 4 is nearly as much) Significant postcode effect i think for this. I tried a sdv8 AB at the same time out of curiosity and it was more. Go figure?

Tesco worked for me yesterday via Quidco compare. £860 for 2013 AB. Most other quotes were around £1000. Back in 2021 I paid under £700 for the RR and my wife’s Mini together.

Spain 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Baltic Blue

Sharing knowledge from a friend…

Renewal for a 2022 Evoque came in at £3,000 with a normal insurance company, apologies, I don’t recall who.

Said friend checked with LR, who quoted ~£1,000.

They said they recognise they must do something due to the thefts etc and ensuing increased premiums. I’d would have never of thought to get a quote from LR, but perhaps worth it. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

I renewed with Esure who were the 'cheapest' and just over £1k, LR insurance wouldn't quote me. First time FFRR owner
