Thanks Danb_220_2019, appreciate the advice.

They do look like they are fit for the bin.

How easy was it to swap yours out for the 13pin one? Was it follow the old cable to the rear fuse box, unplug existing cables and replace the new wires in the same place and feed cable back to the socket?

second thoughts... I think I just need to replace the existing 12s sockets that are in situ, as I have now purchased the 12s to ctek connector, so that would of been money thrown away, as doubt I can send that back now. So really need to get these old 12s ones working...but likely they are shot and need replacing, like you say.

Same here. I binned the old plugs and fitted a brand new genuine 13pin one for the sole purpose of charging via an adaptor and ctek.
Easy to fit. The tricky bit is getting the integrated grommet to seal properly through the bodywork. Plenty of silicone grease to lube it up Laughing
It looks neater for sure Thumbs Up

Distance selling regs = send your adaptor back and get a 13pin one and fit new 13pin cable etc. Easy job to do. I'll do it for you for a bottle of Rioja Rolling with laughter Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Dead easy. I bought a 13pin 'dual entry' socket which is intended to allow conversion from 12N/S to 13pin and allows both the cables to be entered into the socket via a grommet with two cable entries. Just a case of matching the original cable assignments to the new socket. Easiest done by removing the entire sub-loom from where it plugs into the vehicle loom so it can be worked on at the bench. 2012 (L322) 4.4TDV8 Vogue SE, RSE, Fuji White over Arabica.

I need to do the same thing, but I have the older 7 pin plug aka 12N

Looks like I will have to buy one from Screwfix and also get the CTEK Comfort from Halfords

No idea, but if I were a betting man, I’d say no, as the battery technology is completely different and so charging rate, voltages etc will be massively different.

No, the EV stations use 400 volts ( not 12V ) , some of the newest ones for Porsche Taycan's etc use 800 volts !

I don't think you can use the Blue (Fog light) pin unless you rewire it inside the boot to connect to a battery permanently live connection rather than fog lights - which as well as being normally switched off, would also connect through either the BCU or lighting ECU.
PS If you've got the minor electrical skills , you could use a 2 way switch to change the feed to the 12N socket from the fog light to the battery live .
You've then got the option for charging when you want or conventional tow bar electrics for towing when you want. Paul,
