L405 automatic forward parking sensors

Help
As the title suggests I am trying set the forward parking sensors to come on automatically, I know they operate when reverse is selected, but I want them to come on when pulling into my drive.

copied from the handbook
By pressing and holding the Parking aid switch for three seconds, the Parking aid system enters into an Auto-on mode, activating the front and side sensors when the vehicle's speed decreases to less than
10 km/h (6 mph), in a forward direction

so in theory it is possible, but I have tried pressing the button all ways, with ignition on and off but can't get them to activate automatically. has any one achieved this ?

if so could you give me some guidance as what I'm doing wrong various other LR's this one is still the best

Not sure what year you’ve got, but on my ‘17 model the setting is within the parking sensor settings.

From memory:
So I select reverse.

When the parking sensor screen come on.

Press the settings icon.

Activate the allow speed setting.

Hope this helps 2017 (67) Vogue SE Corinthian Grey

this might help others,
I eventually stumbled across the option "auto parking aid" in one of the main menus, with it set to "on" the front parking sensors automatically operate when speed under 10mph issue resolved,
but there is no mention of this option in the online handbook various other LR's this one is still the best

I have this also on my 2016, but as soon as the ignition is cycled the setting reverts to off, meaning everytime you get in the vehicle you have to select on, makes it a bit pointless in my opinion.

Has anyone managed to select Auto Parking Aid On and got it to 'stick'?

I'd be interested to know if yours is the same. I looked through the CCF via IID and couldn't see anything that looked likley to make the setting permanent Big Cry L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division.

just used the iid tool to look at the CCF files, I have access to the complete CCF given by Partrick Meilleur:

in the "full list" I searched for "parking aid" there are 2 items listed, made the necessary changes, I have auto park assist also,
set options so it shows I have both systems, uploaded CCF and now the Auto parking aid stays on all the time, it does not default to off with ignition cycle
hope this is useful, I have not checked the auto park assist, but I never use that anyway various other LR's this one is still the best

Would you mind listing the values you changed, think when I looked I only had the confirmed list, whereas I now have the full list as yourself.

Many thanks L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division.

in the "full list" I searched for "parking aid" it gave me a list of about 8 items items If I recall there was a parking aid module which i altered, I think the other one was parking aid system which i also changed, it was fairly obvious which ones to change,

but I did alter it a couple of times as after upload the first time I got a couple of unrelated faults displaying on the dash eg ABS fault, ACC fault, which after changing the selected options disappeared, I get a little nervous of changing the CCF files so I always save the current settings before I make any changes various other LR's this one is still the best

I know the feeling! I'll have a look through my CCF and see if I can spot anything obvious. Glad you managed to sort it anyway. Just have to ask yourself the reason LR thought not to do the job properly in the first place!

Many thanks L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division.

Just in case this helps anyone else out - The above is valid for MY2014-2015, did this in my L494 and worked a treat, that's why I'm abit miffed that I can't get it to 'stick' in my MY2016 L405 L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division.

I have report that my previous statement was incorrect,
It appears I have not manged to set this option to be permanently on, it resets back to off with each ignition cycle, I think I will now give up trying various other LR's this one is still the best
