ACE/ARC Front Pipe Connection

Hi, I am embarking on changing my ACE pipes at home myself, and have got stuck on what I thought would be the easiest connection to do first Smile

Can anyone tell me how the front left connection that goes to a small cooler comes undone? I can feel the connection tucked above the front rail body structure in the front left wheelhouse, and from the new pipe it looks like it is some sort of snap fit, but I cannot figure out how to disconnect the old pipe?

Obviously donโ€™t want to break anything, so any insights appreciated:)

Thanks, much appreciated. It will be here from amazon tomorrow and I will get on it at the weekend Smile

...and there was my thinking all I'd need was a 10mm socket! Smile

I made up this to release the connection. I think that the two bits of copper pipe were for the union in question, and the black thing was for a different connection.

Thanks guys, the tool Phoenix posted worked a treat. I can also see how your copper sleeved would work too, Chris. Nice handy work there!

Next ACE pipe I could do with some advice on how to disconnect is from the other side of the engine bay, I guess itโ€™s the other half of the cooling line for the ACE.

Any idea what tool I need here and/or tips to disconnect? ๐Ÿ™‚

That must be what that black tool I made was for... Looks familiar.

Got it done. Easy once you know how ๐Ÿ˜†

Got this Lisle tool from Amazon after failing at fabricating my own. Perfect fit for the job.

Sharing in case of need from other newbies!

Nice!

I always have the issue that I know what the special tool should look like, but have no idea what it's called. So I make one.
