Trim ring

Well after 45 yes of marriage ( too late to change now) SWMBO declared she was cold so I told her to turn the temperature up on her side. “What was that little ring thing that fell off?” Never to be seen again - I can’t actually remember where I got them (all 3) can anyone remind me?

Geoff,
It's only that I'm bored at work that i looked into this, but they come from Ebay (they are an after market mod, not RR)
But I do like the Autobiography badge you have placed there!
Copy and paste should find it (set of 4 ) you'll have 2 more spares and a radio button spare, or you could look for it, it will most likely be down the side of the seat somewhere.

Hi Geoff,

Lots of these on AE if you do a search, probs exact same stuff as eBay and usually cheaper, delivery usually takes a month or so, but so can CN suppliers on eBay. Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

After investigation g I know where it’s gone - into the hole/void under the passenger seat and my big hands don’t fit, I’m not taking the seaT out to get it back. I just stuck the Autobiography badge on because I didn’t like the big blank space that was there. Not sure if the trim rings are magnetic if so I might try a magnet on a piece of string.
Thanks for the replies. Geoff

What am I thinking, it’s made of aluminium so a magnet will be of no use. Very Happy Confused Geoff

It'll be a while yet - I read no really positive comments on here re: L460 Geoff

If you remove the four bolts securing the seat rails to the floor, you should be able to tip the seat back against the rear seat to gain access, without removing the seat or unplugging anything. Jonathan

Wouldn’t you just know it, retrieved the trim after giving it another go (it was in the hole in the floor) and of course just ordering replacements. When they arrive I’ll do the controls in the back and experiment to find how best to fix them in place. Geoff

Geoff,
I think you'll find they are self adhesive strips, and the adhesion dry's out after a while, when the cabin gets hot/cold/hot/cold etc
Then they fall off!

That is indeed what has happened, double sided tape dried out. I think I'll just use glue as its not likely I'll be removing them - well not intentionally that is Very Happy Geoff
