Perhaps a stupid question but when you say adjust - you mean the two torx screws and adjust up/down?

Yes, that’s correct, I lifted mine just a few mm.

But apparently there is some adjustment in the rubber bump stops attached to the bonnet? I haven’t looked at them yet.

Interesting, I have just contacted RCV for some service work, and they suggested leaving the gearbox alone unless it has issues? They said in their experience changing the oil/filter can cause issues.

I have never heard that before?

Oil/filter is part of the maintenance schedule for the L405 (and L322), unlike all the sealed for life nonsense that keeps being perpetuated online - so that is nonsense, quite frankly.

I’ve removed the oe steps in preparation for some aluminium ones.

Ok, I still appear to have a slow coolant leak which I’m trying to locate. In the meantime I keep an eye on the level and top up as necessary. Is this the correct coolant? There’s so much choice these days 😳

Some pictures on this thread of a common water pipe leak if you have the rear heater... Thumbs Up

Have you tried pressurising the coolant system to help locate the leak

Thanks gents. Mine is leaking down the back of the engine and bellhousing so unlikely to be the rear heater. I’m trying the dye method at the moment to locate the leak. Failing that pressure testing is a good call 👍

Today I finally got around to removing my floppy armrest. Anyone know how it comes apart?

I found a new armrest (OE) in Lithuania so that is on order.

In the meantime I finally fitted one side of the new steps. The brackets weren’t perfect, I ended up leaving the rear one loose, fitted and tightened step into position and then tighten the rear bracket bolts.

I’m not sure I prefer them over standard black, but the wife does 🤷‍♂️ in fact I prefer no steps.

Yes, I hope not but you could be right. I’ve booked it in with an indie for a couple of jobs and I’ve asked them to diagnose the leak. It’s used perhaps 1/2 litre in 200 miles.
