This was a particular issue in the Defender market. I used to go to LR shows and so often you would see some very dubious people selling parts and thinking it was highly likely these were from a stolen Defender, yet the irony is the very same people complaining about Defender thefts were more than happy to snap up a ‘bargain’ part at the show.

Parts supply is definitely part of the theft issue - whenever one of the police forces posts a picture of a “chop shop” or containers of cut-up cars, there’s a common theme. |
