2006 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Alaska White

Hello again,
I am still curious: what do you guys call the counterweight on your brakes?? Everything I have now heard about copper paste is clear for me, but there is still this question what was removed on the brakes?
Is it that piece on my photo?

Thanks a lot,
Is it specific on the brembo brakes ? I have never seen something like that on any car. It looks very strange. Like a terrible diy solution. Does it really work?
