L322 Head Unit - Decent SAT NAV

Hi, I realise the subject of head units for 2010-2012 L322s has been done to death but my request is simple, I don't need Apple car play, Google, data or any of that stuff, I just want a decent Sat Nav.

I'm using a tablet right now but it's a bit aftermarket and detracts from the interior so is there anything I can do to the standard head unit to be able to support Sygic, or other up to date Sat Navs ?

I'm guessing not, as spending an age going through all the topics in the forum I can find the only one I can see to retain the original head unit is still very pricy.

Do you guys know if there's anything on the market now that can do the above that doesn't cost the earth and retains the original appearance ?

Cheers

your existing head unit has a very inaccessible hard drive for the sat nav....theres no way of introducing another navigation software..

the only alternative is adding hardware that gives you carplay/android auto... ... - .- -.

Hi Stan, many thanks, I suspected as much.

Is there anyone on the forum selling that internal modification solution or the replacement full screen, or could do it for me do you know ?

Although I can do myself, I'd rather someone who's familiar with it do do for me as I'm not really looking forwards to ripping the dash out.

AndyRoo, there's only 3 options.

1. Additional CarPlay screen stuck on top of the dash (which from your post is not what you want)
2. Replacement screen with wireless Android Auto and wireless CarPlay and also built in Maps, Spotify etc (runs Android, so you can download any apps)
3. Navitech CarPlay system - integrates with the old screen. In my own personal opinion, the old screen is too small and too low quality vs the cost of this system to make it worthwhile

Here's the L322 with a replacement screen:

Date and time is managed through the screen, it has a Canbus reader.

There's an in-built equaliser which actually improves the sound from the Logic 7 system, better than the sound quality from the stock LR system. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

I'm not sure if it makes any difference to the head unit but I have the HD audio system that I want to retain as is.

I'll have to park for now as just forked out for a new set of wheels and some paintwork, SHMBO will go bananas if I drop that in as well.

But many thanks for the info though, will quietly brood over it for a while.
