I suggest you try the comparison websites but it is very location dependant. I recently bought a 2 year old petrol L405, live in Scotland, limited mileage and retired. Hastings direct offered £400 but l do now have a black box on my windscreen. Not an issue for me as the ff is not used for speed!

Rex thats crazy! You're retired and have a black box? Wow, i hope that doesnt become more common.

Just received my renewal notice from lloyds bank.

Last year £460 this year, £650 fully comp etc. £600 excess. NCD. Owner and Spouse,
Not bad really under current state of affairs about Range Rovers insurance
I was expecting quite a bigger increase.

My insurance renewal this year for an L322 TDV8 4.4, male main driver with 9+ years NCB, clean license, one named female driver, Social use, £500 vol excess, £300 mandatory excess, kept on road in Portsmouth Hants.

23/24 premium: £383.17 with Churchill
24/25 renewal quotation: £568.19
24/25 selected premium : £455 with Tesco bank ( includes club card discount)

Saving £113: Churchill were contacted but declined to match the price which was a shame as I thought they were quite good.

I used the Martin Lewis money saving expert tool here to get the quotes and followed his guidance to get quotes approx 23 days ahead of renewal for the best price…. it worked !

https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/car-insurance/

The nice thing about the Tesco quote was that they seemed to be able to automatically resolve my club card membership from the details I put in and applied a club card discount automatically. I suspect they also worked out that our house insurance is with them as well which Mr. Lewis says also carries sway in the quotation assessment.

Happy with the outcome in these market conditions even though it was higher than last year. TDV8 4.4 2012

It's not just Range Rover insurance...

We bought a newish Volvo XC90 (don't laugh, we needed 7 seats) in August / September last year and swapped insurance over from another vehicle.

At that point our insurance company provided an annual quote for the Volvo and pro rata'd it for the remaining 4 months on the original car's policy. In this particular instance, we received a small refund. Happy days... The annual quote for the Volvo was a tad over £400 / Yr.

Fast forward a mere 4 months to policy renewal and the annual quote had doubled to £800. Shocked They're just having a total 'lend'. Couldn't find a better quote elsewhere either.

'Greed-flation' is rampant throughout UK companies, and is the cause of the lion's share of the UK's soaring inflation. The supermarkets, the fuel companies - they all blame Putin, but in reality it's just out-and-out profiteering. Our insurance companies blame RR thefts, but again, no it's largely all about profit and jacking up prices after a few news headlines... well, just because they can and the Great British public do nothing about it.

The country is out of control and the politicians don't care - they won't say anything because they'll be lining up a nice little non-exec Directorship for when they leave politics.

Consumer groups don't exist it seems and any that do have been bought out, such as the likes of Martin Lewis who sold his website to Money Supermarket Group for £87 million, 12 years ago!

If this was happening to the French, can you imagine what they'd be doing? 1992 RR Classic 3.9 efi Vogue
