United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

Just collected the car (will try and forget the £602.20 bill) complete new driveshaft and ABS sensor on the rear near side fitted.

The ring came adrift from the driveshaft apparently.

The warranty company will not honour the claim as they say the ABS ring is not part of the drive shaft. Paperwork clearly states driveshaft is covered. You cannot buy the ring seperately to the driveshaft.

They won't cover the ABS sensor, even though its also listed as being covered, as it was damaged by the ring. Which I understand.

They argued with the garage owner. I will speak to them tomorrow and seek to pursue.

I would push that claim as far as you can go if the only solution was replacement of the Driveshaft.

To help others who may have this issue, the abs reluctor ring, as its known, that you can't buy separate to the driveshaft, is available here, separately ;

Could be the reluctor ring from BMW E36 rear, because of 48 holes and 93,9 mm ???

That looks good.

I am sure there are alternative ways of fixing the issues other than a complete driveshaft.

I suppose as these cars age, such issues will become more widespread.

No issues with the other corners so far..... Touch wood and all that.....

Another supplier for ABS Reluctor rings ( they have both rear and fronts, but I can't see any difference)

They are really well made and only £13.49 each ( best to buy a pair - one for each side of the driveshaft), the speedo is fed from the rear left ABS signal, and the Reluctor ring on the rear left needs to be in good working order, after 20 years probably best to replace the rears at least Smile
