AUX IN

can someone maybe confirm that there is the facility for "AUX-IN" on the face-lifted FFRR's?

i am trying to sort out an i-pod kit for the car and short of spending a few hundred quid on a Dension interface, i have seen some aux-in connectors with i-pod plug on the other end, which still allows you to charge the battery.

would the plugs be on the back of the tv screen in the dash? Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Mine hasn't got Aux In either. IIRC pre MY07 facelift models don't have it.
After a lot of head scratching I fitted the (quite expensive) LR interface device. Even though it is listed for MY07 onwards, there are threads on the forum showing how it can be done with a bit of fiddling about. It's compatible with the electronics, but you have to dismantle the dash, whereas the MY07 is more or less plug and play.
I now have a switch in the glove compartment to select between ipod and CD changer, and I use it to charge my iphone and use the ipod app in the phone through the touch screen in the car. Also, stating the obvious, the iphone operates on bluetooth to make and receive calls as usual. I had problems with this when I got the car, but I got it sorted with help from Wiggs (don't we all?).

thanks for that, i thought things were prety similar. there only seems to be two choices if you want full functionality, L/R interface (Very Expensive) or Dension gateway 500 (Just expensive)... Shocked

we will get there in the end. wish it was as simple as the plug and play MDI kit i had in my Touareg. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Switzerland 2006 Range Rover Vogue Supercharged Java Black

Hi Stu

I'm working on another solution.

I found in the topix files for the 2006 Range Rovers a solution.

If you have rearseat entertainement there is this little panel with all the aux ports.
the video ports go to the entertainement module (which we dont have) but there is one AUX port in this thing which goes directly to the head unit.

this COULD be a solution. I have the wiring diagramms and technical explanation from LR but it is in german.

I have to open the dashboard to have a look if there is a connecter

Hi Hugi,

thanks for the reply, i think what you are looking into may be similar to this cable, which connects into the rear of the unit.

Hi Stu

if I figure out how to wire in the so called Panel-AVI I may have an AUX-in.

check this out: (I know it is in german)

there we could plug in a cable like you mentioned before.

the cable that i posted the link for looks quite straight forward, just the aux plugs and a live and earth power supply.

this will help you get behind the unit, it is fitting instructions for a VIM unit, but gets you behind the head unit.
