TV Tuner Confusion

I have a 2005 (2006MY) SC with the touch screen monitor, RSE and analogue TV Crying or Very sad I recently bought a new TV tuner which I was told would work on 2005-2009 MY's , having just gone out to swap this over I have found the new tuner is smaller than the old one (LEAR) and has a green plug on it which is not on the old one.

question is will this fit and work on my RR ?

the sockets look the same but there isnt one for the green socket circled in Red below ? will this work on my RR without plugging in the Green plug ?

old (i.e. current analogue) with no green connector.

New , with green connector......

That's the newer style digital tuner as fitted in a D4 but the green socket is not used on the D4 either so you will be fine - Just connect up the other coloured plugs correctly and you'll be sorted Thumbs Up

Not sure.

It is also fitted in Jags, so maybe they use it.

I left my analogue tuner in place and just stuck the new one to it and changed over the plugs.

Took about 5 minutes.

I took my old one out, and bolted the new one in.. If you're going to do it this way, you will need to drill two more holes for the bottom mountings. I also put some spacers (2 washers on each mounting point) to allow for better air flow, as well as drilling holes in the mount opposite the fan.

I've fitted it tonight but can't get it to work,I can't select TV/DVD from the audio menu , press it and nothing happens, tried power cycling the whole car with a battery disconnect as well, still nothing ..... I'm thinking I might have a dud tuner.

Am I missing anything , I there anything should be doing except plugging he new unit in?

What do you mean nothing happens? Does it display anything on the screen at all?

If it does, try hitting the 'auto' button and see if any channels load, also try the 'settings' button and make sure its set to the UK.

And if it still does nothing, send it back, drive to cambridge and buy mine and I will fit it for you Thumbs Up

Pressing tv/DVD It literally does nothing , it doesn't go to the tv/DVD screen so I can't select any options , using the 753 diag menu it says "comm error" or something similar...... Plug the old analogue in and it all works again , albeit analogue.... Sad

I'll get in touch with the seller for a refund , if that works out I might take you up on that offer ... I have RSE though ...... Cool So full fitting is a bit of a pig...

When i fitted mine i had a problem with the green and brown ariel plugs connecting with the new unit (no signal and then no comms)... Make sure you have good connections on all plugs before you take it all back out maybe wasting your time Embarassed
