Yes, I had a black Merc, was the same. Gorgeous when clean, dirty in minutes and the hardest colour to get right..

Gone. Big Cry

Love them, I've had two so far and will probably have another one soon... but NOT a black one. Graham

SWMBO used to have an S Type 'R' in black. I detailed the thing, tried every wax/sealant/paintseal system going on the thing. I spent a bloody king's ransom on detailing gear to try and get round the wash routine of black.

In doing all that I formed the opinion that I will not permit another black car on the drive as long as I have a hole in my ar5e. Black is a royal PITA to keep looking good. Spend all day washing, cleaning and waxing only for SWMBO to drive through one puddle and make it look like I never bothered. Definitely know your pain Mick.

Had an STR before the FFRR, it was black too, same as the RR & a complete PITA for cleaning, although it did look good:

I have a hard time buying anything except black cars.

Yes, they take a lot of work to keep clean but they look the best when they are.

The last Aston was black. Never again. Not only difficult to keep clean but a sod for developing/showing swirls.
