Hello All.

As many of you know the 2006 Camera is horrible and at night mine was not visable. I swapped it out with a 2010 Camera I got from ebay that was $215 #LR023364 and it required a wire from land rover LR016142 which was around $140.

with some cutting and modifying of the 206 case the radio shop made it work. see below for pics.

Just wanted to help anyone else out who has struggled with a solution. I can not figure out how to upload pictures..

I am interested in this too and was told the new camera has a different offset than the old one and that this requires moving the location of the camera on the rear wing.

Are you saying that the modification you did to the housing (Im assuming the left one is the one you modified in the picture) - will allow the camera to be placed in the same location as the original?

No the camera housing stays in the same place.

You only have to modify the sides of the 2010 camera as shown in the picture above so that it slides into the 2006 housing that is fixed on the rear of the vehicle.

Also the 2010 wire has a hard plastic end that needs to be taken off in order to fit in the 2006 inner housing of the upper tailgate. The 2006 wire that connect to your camera is shorter then the 2010 wire.

You have a 2008 I just noticed so I am not sure if it is like my 2006. Any decent radio installer will be able to handle the job if you give them the 2 parts.

You have my atention - what housing? I thought the 2010 Housing is tilted at a different angle or has a different mount point no?

Let me know also a part# - how expensive is it to ship that to the US?

Alex, if you want to but a 2010 mount from dan then you ideally would need to drill a new hole approx 80mm further along to mount the later camera in the same spot it is mounted on the late model cars...

That way it clears all of the internal parts and is on the correct plain too

that probably is not a good idea (drilling a new hole) that is why the installer had to break apart the plastic sleeve that plugs from the new wire into the 2010 camera so that it would clear the internals. I will post pics of the stock end of the 2006 camera and wire that is one piece (camera and wire together) and the conversion I did is 2 parts put together and shaved down to make it fit.

Im wondering how much shaving needs to happen to the connector.

You are 100% sure that putting the camera in the old location will keep the angle on the camera (its the new housing that needs to be moved, not the camera in the housing right?) 2008 HSE B. Grey

The entire white housing needs to be removed. The pictures you see are with the stock 2006 housing in the factory location, nothing was moved. the housing of the 2010 camera needed to be shaved down to fit in the stock 2006 camera mount on the rear of the vehicle.
