Introducing myself, as I'm feeling L322 ownership will suit me.

Had a Disco 4 for a while and completely regret selling that. Best car I've ever owned, but the pricing for a later model euro 6 one is now just silly. Plus the 4.4TDV8 is the engine I want now after driving one recently.

It's amazing how much I used the split tailgate on the disco, I completely underestimated how much I'd miss that.

Joe

England 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Hello everyone,

I’m Lee for West Yorkshire, have already owned an L322 2010 tdv8 4.4 Vogue Se, I wasn’t in a position to make that what I wanted so I moved it on. However 12 months on and I have the bug and realised I missed driving it but hated the uncertainty of what and when it’s go wrong, I am looking at another L322 4.4Tdv8 and I’m hoping to buy one with a view to removing the engine and refurbing the turbos and anything else that goes wrong while it’s in bits so I can have a relatively reliable future ownership. Any suggestions of what I’d need to add to my list would be greatly appreciated.

Lee

Hello everyone,

New to the forum, about to buy a L322, just trying to find the right one for me.

Spec levels seem a bit of a mystery?
Is a SE higher spec than a Westminster?

My wish list for this car is as follows (preferably but if the right car comes up in the right condition and price...)

4.4TDv8
Not black
Clear glass (this seems very rare)
Cream interior
FSH
£15k budget.. ish

I know this is quite the ask but I am searching everywhere I can for the right car. Im also hoping that a January buy might help getting a deal.

Ive been to see a few and been disappointed with the rust in the rear tailgate or rear arches.

Anyway, once found I will be contributing here as I do with any car I buy, the forums are always a great resource and place to chat with like minded folk.

Cheers
Jay

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Zambezi Silver
New to forum and new car

What a great site this is, I have recently bought a L322 TDV8 Vogue SE in siler with a black interior. Whilst the turbos have been done, and the suspension all works as it should, it does have its niggles which with the wealth of information on here I am starting to address. No doubt I will be asking some stupid questions in due course, mainly to do with electrics, which is my nemesis. So why then did I buy a RR? Because I wanted to and I will have to learn!

Germany

Hello to all!
I´m from southwest of Germany and looking to buy a L405 with the 4.4 SDV8 engine. Interior should be beige leather and carpets because of my beige/coyote coloured dogs. (Thinking of bright hairs sticking in black/anthrazit carpet!)
The L322 pleased me better (because of the more classical look), but the L405 with the all aluminium body should be the better option when keeping the car for ten to twenty years.
Vented seats are on the list because most time of the year I wear shorts.
Best regards
Theo

Hello all!

I've come here (again) after many years of D3 and D Sport ownership (and 90, series etc in the distant past).
I was an avid early forumite 20+years ago when I bought one of the first D3, which we ran from new for around 225.000 miles before the engine finally gave out. We are therefore well-versed in the ongoing running costs, EGR, DPF, turbo, electric handbrake, air suspension etc...

I'm tempted by the FFRR, probably in later L405 guise. We no longer routinely ferry 4 children around as we did in the D3, and Mrs XPS is wistfully hankering after something like her old D3 or Sport.
Whilst a Velar or RRS would suit fine, there doesn't seem to be much / any premium between these and the FFRR, and I think you get much more for your money with a 2018-2020 L405 at the moment.

I am well aware of insurance issues, and have indicative quotes of around £800 odd, so that's not going to be an issue for us thankfully.

It's still quite hard to get an accurate picture of the market from the current sources online: lots of kite-flying and optimistic pricing around on AT, and horror stories from the auction houses.

I don't have a fixed budget really - I think a 2018-2020 L405 seems to have the right level of tech, infotainment, and most of the main depreciation already taken care of.
I'd expect we will run this for a good decade, but with lower family mileage than we've been used to, as the children taxi duties are largely abating now.
