Humble pie

All's well that ends well.
Had the car shipped back to the garage that had repaired the gearbox feared the worst was waiting for the bad news. Two hours later the dreaded call.
The intercooler pipe had blown off. It threw them for a while, showed no fault codes, sounded fine when running, just limited drive.
It blew off the egr valve end! Only assumption is it must have been disturbed while they were getting the box in and out but like they said they dont work in that area.
So cant fault garage, Birch 4x4 Liverpool, bit of humble pie for me and a reprieve for the FF for now.
Went tyre kicking this morning Quicks had a line of 4x4's so it was easy to do a back to back comparison.
Freelander is to small and and HSE horrible inside imho.
XC 60 nice but not very robust inside.
Q7 makes a FF look small but want to downsize a bit.
Towrag not for me.
Santa Fe right size right, price, reliable but not a FF.
Think stopping with the RR for a while or until it lets me down. (again) Mine was a blue one! Smile

Update.
Well I took the "Specialist" Who did the original gearbox repair to the small claims court. You are put under a bit of pressure nowadays to agree to mediation before going to court.
Anyway went through the process and ended up with £800 would have negotiated better but flued up and feeling like Censored so let it go for less than I wanted but still quite pleased. Only annoyance is got to give defendant torque converter back and just know he will claim my payout back off his supplier. Mine was a blue one! Smile
