Italy 2002 Range Rover HSE Td6 Ipanema Sand

Quite some luck indeed!

While I was on the fleabay, I also bought a DIY repair / upgrade kit for the BM54 amp, and some CDs with new maps for my old MK3 nav with firmware update.

The amp kit and its seller seem to have quite a reputation, and I'm not at soldering (who said that lawyers don't get their hands dirty?!? Twisted Evil ). As for the maps, I wanted to see what £30 bring in terms of firmware updates and vasic navigation. I always keep my Lumia 920 and its extremely reliable Here Maps + in my pocket. Cool

The only thing now is to figure out an easy way to install the CD changer, since the item doesn't come with any brackets and I don't have the OEM canister.

Any ideas? Roberto

Fleabay is a wonderful thing!

That's the kiddy, it slides in to the 2 channels in the top of the glovebox, you should have them, about 2" / 50mm down from the roof of glovebox but only stick out about 1/4" / 5 mm. you screw the CD changer into the carrier and slide it in, it is then held in place by 2 screws from the side ( outside of glovebox). And then you have to put it all back together Sad Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

The links to the Land Rover instructions, that are on the bottom of page 1, will show you every step on how to install it. I printed it off for reference when in the car, other wise you keep running back to the old 'puter Very Happy
I suppose that if you weren't too fussed about appearance then you could place a thin ply wood shelf in the glovebox and carefully pack and screw through the sides of the glove box in to the CD. but in all honesty the propper CD tray is the way to go, I'm sure that a good search of fleabay will turn up a cheap one, that was just the first that I found Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Miggit, I already printed the the instructions and used them for the dismantling process.

Re being fussed about appearance, the only thin I can point out is that buying a proper tray in UK can be a bit of a blood bath because of €/£ exchange rate and shipping costs. I wouldn' be surprised if the prices double in the process... Rolling Eyes

Maybe I could think about some sort of carefully tailored foam and velcro strip... Roberto
