Lettering

Hello everyone

Been lurking on this site since buying my new (to me) pride and joy in October, but only recently registered.

Now I have got used to my car, I have decided to personalise it a bit and tone down some of the chrome. I am starting with the chrome bonnet and tailgate lettering and I'm changing them to the slightly more subtle titanium.

There is a big difference in price between this lettering on Powerful Uk for example and Ebay. Is there any real difference in the quality between these two or should I just go for the ebay lettering.

Also, the item description on the Powerful Uk says that the lettering has a slight curve to match the body shape of the car but this isn't mentioned on the ebay item description.

Anyone out bought replacement lettering from ebay? Thoughts/opinions please?

Thanks very much.

Welcome, and what a wise decision to ditch the chrome tat.

If you are going to do this, and its such an easy and relatively cheap job, just ask Dan at Duckworths for genuine Titanium lettering, it will be more money than ebay examples or Powerful but you will NOT regret it, the quality is much higher and it just looks the best.

I've bought Powerful stuff in the past and its ok, but its cheaper for a few reasons. Discovery 4 HSE

Nothing against Dan as he provides a great service to the members on here, myself included. You could try these.

An exact match with original letters and templates front and back supplied as well if you buy two sets.
No affiliation with the company, just a satisfied customer.

The fronts are slightly curved to match the curvature of the bonnet, the rears are flat AFAIK no third party letters are curved at the back they are always flat. Geoff

Having seen both types fitted side by side, if it were me doing this (again) I'd just buy genuine. Discovery 4 HSE

Sorry it's been a while lads, got sorted with the Powerful ones and having now replaced the chrome lettering I'm really happy with the result. Next stop chrome door handles to be removed and colour coded.
