You dont even notice it when its in, and nobody whose been in my car has commented on it. I dont think you will find one that will fit better unfortunately!

Ok thanks! Can you post a few pics of the edges? I found another one here that seems to be more flush if anyond else sees this post. I am asking the seller if it will eork with the Rovers.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/361848626665

I might try it out, ill definitly post feedback for everyone.

One question on the sound capability of these units... They say 4x45W, are they comparable to most aftermarket name brand head units? I just want to ensure it has quality sound with the oem Logic7 speaker setup.

oooops, forgot to add my bits on this unit! All fitted now (apart from possible sub amp for the woofers in the boot, but reasonable sound without).
I went mad and fitted auto rear camera, digital tv and connected ELM OBD to torque (see pic).
Altogether fairly happy but had to fit proper short aerial to the roof for tv and radio (messed about for ages with amplified ones but a sticky up thing is always best!)

No sound

Hi,

I have de same poblem: no sound at all in the system. The head unit show all the functions but no sound on the speakers.
About the head unit you recomend is this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7-Car-DVD-Player...w4GVYT7Is.

Will this perform the very good sound of the original one?
I don't care about TV, I don't plan to watch TV in the car.
Will this work with the steering Wheel buttons?

Cheers

That unit is a Win CE based head unit not the Android one, it is the older style, they still work but don't have as many features and the processor is much slower. That's a lot to pay for one.

They will not sound exactly like the original system as they are less than a tenth of the price but I think they are perfectly acceptable

See this link

This is the latest Android Unit with panel light colours that will match the FF, it is currently £228.93 and about £35 postage to Portugal.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Pete

I have just fitted one of these https://www.erisin.com/erisin-es1053b-7-in..._p446.html and I'm very pleased with the preformance... If I was going to keep the car I would have gone for a better Android unit, but this was to get round a dead DSP amp and dodgy navi.... I also fitted a Digital TV tuner as well, so my ffrr is now better equipped than a standard Vogue. The sound isn't as good, but it is very close, and still sounds very good... If your keeping the car and top quality sound is required then add some passive 2 and 3 way crossover units and an amp to drive the sub... but in all honesty, unless you have a super fussy ear, you'll be more than happy with the result Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... That Erisin is on sale and very cheap indeed, good that you grabbed one.
Am thinking of doing the same.

But there are so many different units and with so many specs!
In what way would another unit be meaningfully better?

Were you thinking of this one as a better one? https://www.erisin.com/erisin-es4905b-9-hd..._uploads=0

Think you might struggle with that one in a Range Rover, pretty sure the overhang from the top of the dash would be in the way, it fit's lower in the dash on the BMW...

They mostly do the same thing, just differences in the detail... Oh and check the panel lights will go to green to match the FF and not just red to match the BMW's.... Pete

Thanks!

If I do get one I'll probably get the one that you suggested a few posts earlier. I'd like to play it safe.
Range Rover was off the road for most of the year. Will hopefully get it on the road again soon, hope that unit will still be available then!

It's sort of irrelevant if they are 3 or 4G unless you want to have it set up as a stand alone, every time you are in the FF and need internet connection you will have your phone with you, they connect automatically on wifi as well as BT and the units have the mirror function so you can totally control your phone from the head unit..

Had mine a couple of years now and never needed 3 or 4G capability in the head unit...

They're not much good for extended web surfing etc because of the location of the unit in the FF, great for seeing the screen but a pain for tapping the screen for any length of time... Thumbs Up

I've fitted Eonon and Xtrons units as well as the Erisin and have to say IMHO the Erisin ones are far better quality and their customer service is better, not perfect, but better...!!! Pete

United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

Is there anyone in the north west that could help me fit one of these. I'm not the most technically able so would love some help doing this. Happy to pay for any assistance and guidance. I'm in Manchester so can get most places in the north west. Haven't found an audio specialist willing to help out.
