Name that tune. Engine squeal sound. (Video attached)

So my Range makes a squeel sound. Or maybe a flutter is better description. It's not steady it will squeel for a second, then not for a second or two then do it again. I attached a video that tried to capture it. Is this a fan belt, tensioner, pulley, issue? I have a 90 day warranty from the LR dealer on engine and trans but it expires in a week or two so I need to know of this is something major.

Can't hear any squealing?? .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

you don't hear it? Its like a fluttering or something rattling that's loose.

Listened to it. Hard to decipher much from the clip.

Could it be described as chirping?

Our 4.2SC recently had the engine out to fix an oil leak. When they put it back in, the engine reportedly started making a chirping sound attributed to the belts and so they replaced the Supercharger pulley belt and the Alternator belt which stopped the noise.

Chirping does sound about accurate. It's intermittent and each instance is is not the same duration. I don't have a SC so possibly a belt. Hmmm. How hard/cost was it to switch the belt out?

The oil leak was a warranty job and the belts were replaced within that process. I'm sure someone will give an indication as to parts and labour costs if the forum search engine doesn't help.

Thumbs Up
