Ipod

Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me if my 07 plate 322 has the connection for iPod?
Pick car up on Monday, and if not, what do I need to make it work??

Thanks in advance

David

No unless the purchaser specced the LR connectivity kit or retrofitted a kit . The connection would normally be in the glove box if so.

A proper LR kit is circa £475 and can be diy fitted GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

As you have an SE, there should be an Aux in on the back of the centre console.

The easiest solution is a lead like this plugged into one of these

I had this set up then upgraded to the full integrated kit - which IMHO wasn't worth it.

Land Rover iPod kit is over 500 GBP now so best look on ebay or have deep pockets .
I have a relatively cheap solution that is a bit neater than the aux cable rout , I fitted a Grffin Blue Trip to the aux socket and power socket and now stream my music from my pocket so to speak .

That looks neat, but Bluetooth is OK for phone calls, but not the best for music. On my boat I have one of
these which use airplay over wifi which is better quality Thumbs Up

I (maybe incorrectly) interpreted the request for a good old fashioned iPod - because that's what I have in the car - that supports neither bluetooth to airplay Sad

FWIW, the official fully integrated solution displays song titles, and uses the skip type controls on the screen & steering wheel - but it only supports the first 5 playlists. It basically replaces the CD player as far as the audio system is concerned - CD6 is everything on the device.

There is no search functionality or anything like that - so you get basic control and can put the iPod out of the way in the glovebox.

I have the original LR kit in mine. Bought from Duckworth Dan and fitted in about 2 hours.

I like the original kit as I didnt want extra brackets and cables on display but I wouldn't say it's very good. It emulates the existing 6 disc CD changer, so you have to set up 6 playlists on your ipod and use them as if they were CD's. There is no search function either. Not great tbh. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Sound isn't top draw on my set up but its better than an FM modulator and it's quick neat and relatively cheep .
Bad news for the future is that manufacturers are all going to be using bluetooth streaming for connectivity . 2008 MY Supercharged

David, for a cheap solution (not integrated with the touchscreen) you can use the rear Aux input on the SE and keep everything tidied away in the centre cubby hole

This is what i did to enable bluetooth streaming from my phone

Also worth noting if you're new to iPods and speakers (vs headphones) is that you need a decent quality rip. If you use a low bit rate - like 128k which used to be the iTunes & Apple store standard, then it will be somewhat lacking in the bass department.

Some people insist that you need full loss-less ripping - I find that 320k is good enough for me Thumbs Up
