Steering column noise

The in and out movement of the steering column has just started to make a louder noise over the last few days when being switched on and off . A search on here came up with the suggestion that if it's not a lubrication problem, a low battery could be to blame. Battery showing 12.13 volts. Also getting the HDC warning every morning which I've had before but which stopped when I last replaced the battery. What volts should a fully charged battery show ?

PS can't find a link I had to a site which showed where to drill a precise hole on the steering column to squirt in some copper grease. Did this two years ago on a mates and completely cured the sticking steering column problem.

hwever, my new problem is the motor running slowly rather than the locking pin sticking.

Column shroud dismantled and both up and down/ in and out spindles greased but they where pretty well lubricated to begin with. Noise still there when wheel goes in and out though so it sounds like the motor that does this is on it's way out. Is this a replaceable part ?

Thank You. Have seen this. My tilt is fine, its the reach motor that is giving me concern. Have seen a dash out job on a FFR before and I am filled with dread at the thought of this just to change a small motor.

Its not the white nylon mounting clip the motor sits on starting to work loose is it? My reach stopped working - found the white mount bracket had snapped in two leaving the motor dangling. If yours is still working but noisy, perhaps the mount is starting to weaken and the motor moving on the mount is making it not engage fully with the flexi drive? Current Fleet:-
